What's in the worksheet

4 rounds, a put-in-order game with 4 steps each - Business plan: settle the product > name the customers > work out cost and price > plan marketing - Life plan: take stock of strengths and interests > set a goal > plan study and training > review and revise - Developing a program: analyse > flowchart > write the program > test and improve - Household budget: total income > fixed costs > estimate variable costs > set savings aside and total

How to use it in class

Use late in Grade 6 to tie units together with one idea: think before you act. 8 minutes. - Play in teams, then each child writes out round 2 for themselves on paper - For round 4, try it with made-up numbers such as income of 20,000 baht and rent of 5,000 baht - If many miss round 2, ask "If you don't yet know what you like, can you set a goal?" - Play it linked to a class and the scores go into the class gradebook.

Common sticking points

- In round 4, setting savings aside before expenses, following pay-yourself-first, which is real advice; listen even though the game puts saving last - In round 1, working out costs before naming customers, thinking money comes first - In round 2, setting the goal before taking stock, being used to the question what do you want to be
