Choose maths worksheets that follow the thinking pupils are doing
These Grade 1 to 3 maths worksheets cover number and algebra, measurement and geometry, and data and graphs. First decide whether pupils are counting, comparing, measuring, or explaining data, then choose an activity that follows something they have tried with objects or pictures in the classroom.
Number work: begin with counting or a number line before asking pupils to choose a sign, fill an answer, or solve a problem.
Measurement and shape: let pupils observe a ruler, clock, money, or real shape before using the worksheet.
Revision: use different activity formats for the same skill to see whether pupils can apply the idea when the task changes.
