Before you play
Practises separating digital from handmade art, Thai from Western ensembles, symmetrical from asymmetrical balance, and acceptable from unacceptable online use of others' work. Supports indicator ศ 1.1 ป.6/1.
4 rounds, sort 4 items into 2 groups - computer drawings and photo montage are digital; watercolour and woodcut are handmade - piphat and Thai string ensembles are Thai; orchestra and pop/rock band are Western - identical sides and a mirror reflection are symmetrical balance - free-licence images used with credit are fine; editing photos to mislead is not
A mid-unit review or the opener to digital work, about 6 minutes, in teams. Before the balance round, project one symmetrical and one asymmetrical picture and let teams call them. In the online-behaviour round, have teams justify each item before the reveal, since Grade 6 pupils already use web images for assignments. Play it linked to the class and the scores go into the gradebook.
- Photo montage (phap tat to): children who have done paper collage will put it under handmade, which is reasonable. Say that here it means editing on a computer. - "One big thing balanced by several small ones": children may not see this as balance. Use a see-saw picture. - String band (wong string): some file it as Thai because such bands sing Thai songs.
