Natural, and they come to everyone in their turn.
Diabetes comes of habits and heredity; it does not pass from person to person.
Lean forward and pinch the nostrils; never tip your head back, or the blood runs down your throat.
Before you play
A mixed Grade 4 health review: puberty changes, non-communicable disease, nosebleed first aid, the medical emergency number, the 20-20-20 eye rule, and healthy weight control for children.
6 multiple-choice questions, 3 options each, one topic each - Puberty changes are natural for everyone - Diabetes is non-communicable - Nosebleed: lean forward and pinch the nose (distractor: tilt your head back) - Medical emergencies: call 1669 - The 20-20-20 rule; control weight with balanced portions and exercise
Use as an end-of-term review; about 5 minutes. - Play solo and check per-question results; follow weak spots with that topic's own game, such as changes with age or first aid - For question 4, put all three emergency numbers, 1669, 191 and 199, on the board - For question 3, have the class practise leaning forward and pinching the nose together - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book.
- Question 3: 'tilt your head back and pinch' differs from the answer only in back versus forward, and many homes still teach tilting back, so many pick it - Question 4: 191 is the emergency number children know best, so it is picked instead of 1669 - Question 6: 'skip dinner and eat only fruit' sounds healthy; children worried about weight may pick it, so handle it sensitively - Question 1: some boys believe puberty only happens to girls
