What children will practise

Practise understanding the words read: sorting them into categories (fruit, animals, furniture, clothing), matching opposites, linking colours to real things, and counting syllables (ท 1.1 ป.1/3).

What's in the worksheet

4 matching questions, 4 pairs each - Match เก้าอี้ (chair) to furniture and เสื้อ (shirt) to clothing - Match สูง (tall) to เตี้ย (short) and มืด (dark) to สว่าง (bright) - Match แดง (red) to เลือด (blood) and เหลือง (yellow) to a ripe banana - Match มด to 1 syllable, ตุ๊กตา to 3, โทรทัศน์สี to 4

How to use it in class

Use as a P1 vocabulary review, 5 minutes in team mode. - After item 3, have children point to something the same colour in the room - For item 4, clap the syllables together, especially ตุ๊ก-กะ-ตา, written in two parts but read as three - If เครื่องเรือน (furniture) is new in item 1, explain it means things like tables, cupboards and beds Play it linked to a class and the results go into the mark book.

Common sticking points

- Item 4: counting ตุ๊กตา as 2 syllables from the spelling; read it ตุ๊ก-กะ-ตา and clap - Item 1: swapping the categories of เก้าอี้ and เสื้อ when เครื่องเรือน is an unknown word - Item 2: expecting ต่ำ (low) for สูง; explain that เตี้ย is used for people and trees
