Practises word meaning four ways: nouns with their classifiers, virtue words with their meanings, opposites, and polite words with their everyday equivalents. It matches indicator ท 4.1 ป.4/1, spelling words and giving their meaning in context.
4 questions, a matching game with four pairs each - Match ปากกา (pen) to ด้าม and รถ (car) to คัน - Match สามัคคี to pulling together as one - Match the opposites ประหยัด and ฟุ่มเฟือย, ซื่อสัตย์ and ทุจริต - Match the polite words บิดา to พ่อ and บุตร to ลูก
Use it to open a lesson after classifiers and polite words have been taught. Allow 6-8 minutes; in teams, one child taps and another explains. Questions 2 and 3 reuse the same words (ขยัน, ประหยัด, สามัคคี), so ask a follow-up such as what is the opposite of what a hard-working person does. After question 4, have children make a short sentence with บิดา or มารดา. You can play it linked to a class and record it in the gradebook. English mode has some loose glosses: ประหยัด shows as save, ลูก as children, and the gloss for คัน (long-handled things) makes ปากกา look like a fair match. Thai mode is the safer choice.
- Question 1: matching ปากกา to คัน because a pen is long. Explain that คัน is for vehicles and things with a long handle, while a pen takes ด้าม. - Question 3: swapping ทุจริต (dishonest) and เกียจคร้าน (idle) since both are bad. Ask: does a lazy person cheat? - Question 4: hesitating over ภรรยา and เมีย because some children think เมีย is rude. Explain that it is plain, not rude.
