Art
An AR classroom game for Grade 1. Learners can aim with their hands at the camera or play by tapping the screen.
This set has 4 rounds in an interactive matching activity.
Curriculum indicatorศ 3.1 ป.1/1
A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
The body says how it feels without a word.
Movement in time with the beat is what looks graceful.
Thai games train the body and the art of getting on together.
Before you play
Practises linking body movement to feelings and tempo (head down and shoulders hunched means sad, slow walking fits a slow beat) and recognising Thai children's games such as ri ri khao san and ngu kin hang. Supports indicator ศ 3.1 ป.1/1 on imitating movement.
4 rounds, match 4 pairs each - standing with folded arms goes with displeasure - turning on the spot goes with a continuous beat; standing still goes with a pause - mon son pha goes with running round the circle to catch; ti chap goes with tagging and running home - the trunk goes with bending and twisting
Best in a lesson with room to move, about 10 minutes, team mode. Before each round, a team member acts out the prompts (folded arms, head down and hunched) and then the team matches. If most teams miss the Thai games round, play a quick ri ri khao san or ngu kin hang at the end of the lesson. Play it linked to the class and the scores go into the gradebook.
- Tempo round: "turning = continuous beat" is the hardest pair, since you can turn fast or slow; children tend to get it by elimination. Have them turn to music that does not stop. - Mon son pha and ti chap: children who have played neither often swap them since both involve running. Describe each game briefly. - Folded arms may be matched to sad. Have children add a face to the pose and see which feeling fits.
