Grade 6 Thai literature knowledge: characters from major works, kinds of writing and their purpose, literary vocabulary, and four kinds of literary worth. Fits ท 5.1 ป.6/1 and ป.6/3 (explaining the worth of literature).
4 questions, a matching game with four pairs each - Match the Ramakien to Phra Ram and Inao to Bussaba - Match an article to puts a view with reasons for it - Match คีรี to mountain and ไพร to forest - Match worth as social record to it mirrors how people lived
Best after reading a literature piece in class and before children write their response to it. 6-8 minutes in teams. After question 4, have each team give one example per kind of worth from the work just studied. For question 3, children can hunt for these words in the recitation verse they are learning. You can link it to a class and record it in the gradebook.
- Question 1: swapping Khun Chang Khun Phaen and Inao because children know neither Nang Wanthong nor Bussaba. Summarise both stories before playing. - Question 2: swapping article and news report, as both appear in newspapers. A news report holds no opinion; an article argues one with reasons. - Question 4: swapping worth in feeling and moral teaching since both touch the reader. Ask which one teaches and which one makes you feel. - Question 1: the prompt says principal character, but not every pair is the hero: Phra Aphai Mani is paired with Sutsakhon, his son, and two works use their heroines. Tell children the task is to match each work to an important character in it, not necessarily the lead.
