A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
Hanoi is the capital; Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city.
Three: the legislature, the executive and the judiciary.
There is little of it and many want it, so the price rises.
Before you play
A mixed Grade 4 social studies review, one topic per question: ASEAN capitals, branches of power, price and scarcity, Sukhothai history, human rights and natural resources, so the teacher can see which unit the class is still shaky on.
6 multiple-choice questions, 3 options each, a different topic every time - Vietnam's capital (Hanoi, not Ho Chi Minh City or Hue) - Sovereign power has 3 branches - Scarce goods make prices rise - King Ramkhamhaeng created the Thai script - Human rights belong to everyone; forests are a renewable resource
Use before the final exam, or at the start of next term to check retention; about 5 minutes. - Play solo on children's devices and look at per-question results; the most-missed question points to the unit to revisit - Build on each explanation, e.g. after question 1 note that Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city but not the capital - If more than half the class misses a question, follow up with that unit's own game, such as Thai government or Sukhothai and Ayutthaya - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book.
- Question 1: children hear Ho Chi Minh City more often than Hanoi, so it is often chosen as the capital - Question 4: King Si Inthrathit was also a Sukhothai king, so children who only remember 'Sukhothai' guess between the two - Question 6: natural gas sounds renewable because of the word natural; explain it formed underground over millions of years and runs out
