Understand the basics of the world economy: export versus import, Thailand's key exports, exchange rates, the role of tourism, and what globalisation means.
6 multiple-choice questions, 3 options each - Exporting is selling abroad; importing is buying from abroad - Thailand's key exports include rice and rubber - An exchange rate is the rate for swapping currencies - Tourism brings in foreign money and creates jobs - Globalisation means countries becoming more connected
Use in the world economy unit; about 5-6 minutes. - Before question 4, show a real exchange-rate board from a bank website: how many baht is one US dollar today - For question 6, have children check where things around them were made, shoes, phones, as examples of globalisation - In teams, use gestures for questions 1 and 2: pushing goods out, pulling goods in - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book.
