How to use it in class

Use after shining torches through different materials in a darkened room. Allow about 15 minutes. - Before starting, write the four possible answers on the board and do items 2 and 1 together as examples - After marking, have children make card shadow puppets and perform them as in item 5

Common sticking points

- Not knowing what to write, because no item carries a question or options - Items 4 and 7: writing lets light through because some light shows, without separating 'some' from 'all' - Items 3 and 6: writing shadow, since an opaque object does cast one, which is a fair answer
