What children will practise

Review two-digit addition and subtraction with carrying and borrowing (indicator ค 1.1 ป.2/4), the 4 and 5 times tables, and spotting odd numbers, as a readiness check before mixed operations.

What's in the worksheet

6 multiple-choice questions - 36 + 27 = ? with a carry, answer 63 - 74 - 39 = ? with borrowing, answer 35 - 100 - 55 = ? answer 45 - 5 × 8 = 40 and 4 × 7 = 28 - Which is odd: 46, 47 or 48? 47

How to use it in class

Use as a pre-test at the start of a new unit or a monthly review game, about 8 minutes. Solo mode shows who is stuck where. - 74 - 39 and 100 - 55 take longest; allow time for working on paper - After 100 - 55, have pupils check backwards: does 45 + 55 make 100? - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book, then use the per-question view to group pupils for reteaching

Common sticking points

- Choosing 45 for 74 - 39 by taking the smaller ones digit from the larger (9 - 4 = 5) instead of borrowing. Exchange a ten with base-ten blocks - Choosing 55 or 35 for 100 - 55, because borrowing across two zeros is hard. Count on from 55 to 100 instead - Choosing 53 for 36 + 27 by forgetting the carried ten
