What children will practise

Multiply one-digit numbers by 10, seeing the pattern that the product gains one zero (indicator ค 1.1 ป.2/5), and division by 10 as the reverse.

What's in the worksheet

6 multiple-choice questions - 10 × 3 = ? distractors 103 and 13, answer 30 - 10 × 7 = 70 and 10 × 9 = 90 - 10 × 10 = ? answer 100, distractors 110 and 20 - 60 ÷ 10 = ? answer 6, the only division item

How to use it in class

A short 4-minute game after teaching the 10 times table with tens rods; quick solo mode. - Beforehand, count in tens with 3 rods and 7 rods to show that 3 rods is 30 - Most distractors come from writing digits in the wrong place, such as 103. After revealing, ask "Which is three tens rods, 103 or 30?" - For 60 ÷ 10, ask the reverse: 10 times what makes 60? - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book

Common sticking points

- Choosing 103 or 13 for 10 × 3 by joining 10 and 3. Read it as "3 groups of 10" - Choosing 20 for 10 × 10 by mixing it up with 10 + 10, or 110 from a writing slip - Choosing 600 for 60 ÷ 10 after several "add a zero" questions. Check the ÷ sign before answering
