Grades 4–6 (P.4–P.6)
Mathematics
An AR classroom game for Grade 6. Learners can aim with their hands at the camera or play by tapping the screen.
This set has 6 questions in an interactive multiple choice activity.
A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
The mode is the value that occurs most often - five appears twice.
Put them in order and take the middle value, which is six.
The range is the largest take away the smallest: fifteen take five is ten.
Before you play
Find summary values (mode, median, range, mean), choose the graph that shows parts of a whole (pie charts, ค 3.1 ป.6/1), and the probability of heads on a coin.
6 questions, multiple choice with 3 options - Mode of 3, 5, 5, 7, 10 (5) - Median of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 (6) - Range of 5, 10, 15 (10) - Which graph shows parts of a whole (pie chart) - Probability of heads on one coin toss (1/2)
Use after collecting real class data such as siblings or heights; about 5-6 minutes. - Play in teams and have each team state the definition before choosing - If Q1-Q3 go badly, post a three-word chart on the board: mode = most often, median = middle, range = largest minus smallest - For Q5, show a pie chart from the textbook - Some items extend beyond primary indicators. Use them for discussion or preparation for Grade 7, not to judge attainment - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book.
- Q3: children often answer 15 (the largest) or 5 for the range - Q1: 10 may be given as the mode because it is the largest - Q2: the median and mean of this set are both 6, so children who find the mean get it right without understanding the median
