ArtGrade 16 questions
Art
An AR classroom game for Grade 4. Learners can aim with their hands at the camera or play by tapping the screen.
This set has 6 questions in an interactive multiple choice activity.
Curriculum indicatorศ 1.1 ป.4/2
A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
Use light and shade to show the lit and dark sides.
The point on the horizon where parallel lines appear to meet.
Because distance makes far things look smaller - that is perspective.
Before you play
Practises drawing objects with volume and depth: light and shade, smooth tonal gradation on a sphere, cast shadows, the vanishing point in perspective, and light sketch lines. Fits indicator ศ 1.1 ป.4/2 on drawing with depth.
6 questions, 3 options each - What is the vanishing point? (where parallel lines seem to meet) - Why do distant railway tracks look narrower? (distance makes far things look smaller) - What does a cast shadow do in a picture? (shows the light direction and that the object sits on the ground) - How do you make a sphere look round? (shade smoothly from light to dark)
Play before a shading lesson, about 7 minutes, solo. For the railway question, project a photo of a long straight road or track and have children trace the edges to the vanishing point. For the cast shadow and sphere questions, shine a torch on a ball at the front. If a question goes badly, have children shade a five-step value scale straight away. Play it linked to the class and the scores go into the gradebook.
- Railway tracks: the distractor "fog hides part of the track" sounds reasonable to children. Point out the tracks still narrow on a clear day. - Vanishing point: some pick "always the centre of the picture" because textbook examples often put it there. Show one placed off to the side. - Sphere: children who like bold outlines may choose "draw a thick outline".
