What children will practise

Practise following instructions in order: the teacher's instructions, the steps of telling a story, good listening manners, and building the question เธอไปโรงเรียนหรือยัง (ท 3.1 ป.2/1).

What's in the worksheet

4 ordering questions - take out your notebook > turn to the page > write your name > hand it in - give the title > introduce the characters > tell what happens > give the lesson - look at the speaker > listen to the end > raise your hand to ask > thank the speaker - เธอ (you) > ไป (go) > โรงเรียน (school) > หรือยัง (yet?)

How to use it in class

Pair it with a real listening task, 4-5 minutes in solo mode. - Before item 1, say the four instructions aloud once, then let children order them, since the game itself does not read them out - Use item 3 as the class agreement whenever someone speaks at the front - Item 2 gives children a frame for retelling a favourite story Play it linked to a class and the results go into the mark book.

Common sticking points

- Item 1: putting write your name before turning to the page, as many classes write names first - Item 3: putting raise your hand before listen to the end; stress listening first - Item 2: swapping the title and the characters, since many tales are named after their characters
