Before you play
Orders ideas for writing and speaking: words into a complex sentence, events by time, steps for preparing a class talk, and paragraphs by the weight of their reasons. Matches ท 2.1 ป.5/2, writing clearly and correctly.
4 questions, an ordering game with four pieces each - นักเรียน > ที่ตั้งใจเรียน > ย่อม > ประสบความสำเร็จ (students who study in earnest surely succeed) - yesterday > this morning > now > tomorrow - choose the topic > gather material > write the outline > rehearse - lesser reason > supporting reason > chief reason > conclusion
Use it before children prepare a talk or an opinion essay, about 5 minutes. Team play suits question 4, which needs discussion about which reason weighs more. After question 1, have them build their own complex sentence with ที่. After question 4, say that building from lesser to chief reason is one approach; leading with the chief reason also works in real writing. You can link it to a class and record it in the gradebook.
- Question 4: almost every class will miss it, because children are taught the main point comes first, and nothing marks the lesser reason as weaker than the supporting reason. Explain the light-to-heavy idea before playing. - Question 1: putting ย่อม first or last because the word is unfamiliar. Read several versions aloud. - Question 2: swapping this morning and now if you play in the morning. Explain that this morning means the part already past. - Question 1: the in-game explanation says the main clause comes first and then the subordinate one, yet the answer places ที่ตั้งใจเรียน in the middle, right after นักเรียน. Explain that a ที่ clause sits directly after the noun it describes.
