Before you begin
Look at everyday actions and decide whether each is good or not good for health, building awareness of habits that look after the body.
10 questions, 10 points - Write "good" or "not good" under each picture - Seven good habits: washing hands, brushing teeth, stretching outdoors, going to bed at 21:00, drinking clean water, eating vegetables and having a shower - Three not good: a pile of sweets (Q4), lying down with a tablet close to the eyes (Q7) and running across the road in front of a car (Q9) - A separate answer key is included
Use in a health and body-care unit. Allow about 10 minutes. - Afterwards, ask children how each "not good" picture could be changed, e.g. in Q7, sit up and hold the screen further away - Follow up by having children draw or write one good habit they keep every day and share it with a partner
- In Q4 the child in the picture looks happy, so children answer "good" - In Q7 children think tablet use has nothing to do with health - In Q9 children see hurrying to school rather than a danger to the body
