What children will practise

Read Maya's Library Day and check details of time, colour, day and who did what to decide whether ten statements are true or false.

What's in the worksheet

10 statements, 2 points each, 20 points - The story: on Wednesday Maya's class visits the library, Mrs. Bell welcomes them at ten, Maya picks a planet book and Ben borrows a dinosaur book, they find five hidden words at eleven, each child gets a blue bookmark, and Maya promises to return on Saturday with her father - Write T or F for statements such as Mrs. Bell welcomed the class at nine o'clock., Ben borrowed a book about planets. and Every child received a red bookmark. - Six are true (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10) and four false (2, 4, 6, 8) - The key gives the answers in Thai (จริง / เท็จ)

How to use it in class

Use after The Park Team sheet, since this one is purely about details. Allow about 15 minutes. - Before starting, have children circle numbers, times, days and colours in the story in different colours, because every false item changes one of these - After marking, children rewrite the four false statements so they are true, e.g. Mrs. Bell welcomed the class at ten o'clock.

Common sticking points

- Item 2: answering T because the clock in the item shows nine, matching the statement, though the story says ten - Item 4: answering T because the picture shows Ben holding a planet book - Item 8: answering T on seeing bookmark, without checking red against blue - Item 6: answering T on the guess that children played a game, when the story says they found hidden words
