Game teaching guide

What children will practise

Links the five senses to their organs (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, skin) and shows that each works on its own. Fits ว 1.2 ป.1/1 (body parts and their jobs) and ป.1/2 (valuing and caring for one's body).

What's in the worksheet

6 questions, multiple choice with three options each - We see with our eyes and hear with our ears - We smell with our nose and taste with our tongue - Skin tells hot from cold (distractors hair, muscles) - With eyes shut you still know something is hot because the skin can still feel it

How to use it in class

Play it after a mystery-box activity or a blindfold tasting, about 5 minutes, solo or in pairs, with the teacher reading aloud. Questions 1-5 go quickly: have children point to the organ on their own face together before tapping. Question 6 needs thought: pause and ask whether covering your ears would stop you knowing the water is hot. Finish with a short talk on keeping eyes and ears safe. You can link it to a class and record it in the gradebook.

Common sticking points

- Question 6: choosing the nose can smell the heat, from smelling hot food. Separate them: the smell comes from the food, the heat is felt by the skin. - Question 5: choosing muscles because muscles feel pain. Have children touch a cold glass and ask where they feel it. - Question 4: some choose the eye because you can see food looks sour. Ask whether looking alone really tells you the taste.
