Grades 1–3 (P.1–P.3)
Science
An AR classroom game for Grade 2. Learners can aim with their hands at the camera or play by tapping the screen.
This set has 6 questions in an interactive multiple choice activity.
Curriculum indicatorว 1.2 ป.2/1
A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
A plant needs water, sunlight, air and minerals from the soil.
A plant uses water to carry food and hold its shape, so without it the plant wilts.
A plant makes food with light, so without it the leaves pale and it eventually dies.
Before you play
What plants need to grow, what happens without water or light, what roots do, breathing through stomata, and growing plants without seeds. Matches ว 1.2 ป.2/1 (plants need light and water to grow) and ป.2/2 (caring for plants).
6 questions, multiple choice with three options each - A plant needs water, sunlight, air and minerals - Without water a plant wilts - In complete darkness its leaves go pale and it finally dies - A plant breathes through its stomata; without seeds it can be grown from cuttings or air-layering
Best during a dark-versus-light bean-growing experiment, once differences appear. About 5 minutes in teams. After question 3, go and look at the pot kept in the dark box. ปากใบ (stomata) in question 5 is new for Grade 2, so show a magnified picture of a leaf surface. For question 6, if you have a sprig of basil or similar, try a cutting in water. You can link it to a class and record it in the gradebook. Questions 5 and 6 (stomata, cuttings and air-layering) go beyond the Grade 2 indicator; treat them as enrichment rather than assessment.
- Question 3: choosing the leaves turn darker green, thinking shade keeps leaves fresh. Show the real result: the plant in the box goes pale and yellow. - Question 1: choosing water, soil and fertiliser, no light, because fertiliser seems so important. Ask why the plant in the dark box has soil and water yet still goes pale. - Question 5: choosing roots, thinking roots breathe in the soil. Accept that roots need air too, but the answer here is stomata.
