A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
A week has seven days.
A year has twelve months.
The Thai week starts on Sunday, so Monday follows Sunday.
Before you play
Review calendar basics: days in a week, months in a year, the order of days and the weekend, as groundwork for time problems in a single unit (indicator ค 2.1 ป.2/1).
6 multiple-choice questions - How many days are in a week? 7 - Which day comes before Monday? Sunday - How many days are in two weeks? 14 - Which is the first month of the year? January - Which days are the weekend? Saturday and Sunday
A good opener for a calendar lesson, about 5 minutes. Solo mode is enough since the items are short; keep a real calendar beside the screen. - For "Which day comes before Monday?", have the class chant the days from Sunday to Saturday before answering - For two weeks, count two rows on the real calendar rather than just saying 7 + 7 - Play it linked to the class to record it in the mark book before starting time word problems
- In "Which day comes before Monday?" pupils may read it as the day after and pick Tuesday. Point on the calendar to show the question asks for the day before - For two weeks, picking 12 by mixing it up with months, or 21 by counting three weeks - For months in a year, some pick 10. Sing through all 12 month names
