What children will practise

Use the 3 and 4 times tables to find products (indicator ค 1.1 ป.2/5), and see that multiplying by 10 adds a zero.

What's in the worksheet

6 multiple-choice questions - 3 × 7 = 21 and 3 × 9 = 27 - 3 × 3 = 9 - 4 × 6 = 24 and 4 × 8 = 32 - 4 × 10 = ? distractors 44 and 14, answer 40

How to use it in class

Play once pupils can chant the 3 and 4 tables, about 5 minutes. In team mode, one pupil per team can chant the table aloud to help. - Distractors are often the neighbouring products, such as 24 and 18 for 3 × 7; ask pupils where each wrong option comes from - Use 4 × 10 as a lead-in to multiplying by ten - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book

Common sticking points

- Choosing 24 or 18 for 3 × 7 by going one row too far or short. Start from the easy fact 3 × 5 = 15 and count on twice - Choosing 36 or 28 for 4 × 8, which are 4 × 9 and 4 × 7. Double 2 × 8: 16 + 16 - Choosing 44 or 14 for 4 × 10 by joining digits together
