Before you play
Review the 2 to 5 times tables, including 2 × 12, using multiplication as equal groups and strategies such as 4 × 9 = 4 × 10 minus 4 (indicator ค 1.1 ป.3/6).
8 multiple-choice questions, 4 options each - 3 × 4 = 12 and 3 × 7 = 21 - 5 × 6 = 30 and 5 × 8 = 40 - 2 × 9 = 18 and 2 × 12 = 24 - 4 × 7 = 28 - 4 × 9 = 36, with distractors 40 and 45
Use to review the small tables before the 6 to 9 tables, about 6 minutes, solo mode. With 4 options each, guessing is harder than in other sets. - For 4 × 9, demonstrate 4 × 10 - 4 on the board, then let pupils try it on 3 × 9 - For 2 × 12, think of it as double 12 - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book, then group pupils still missing the 4 times table
- Choosing 36 or 35 for 5 × 6, mixing it with 6 × 6 or 5 × 7. Count in fives six times - Choosing 40 for 4 × 9 by using 4 × 10 and forgetting to subtract 4, or 32, which is 4 × 8 - Choosing 24 or 18 for 3 × 7 by slipping a row
