Solve problems about time and duration (indicator ค 2.1 ป.3/2): find a finishing time from a start time and duration, find the time between two times, and convert hours to minutes.
6 multiple-choice questions - 1 hour 30 minutes is 90 minutes; distractor 130 - Starting at 09:00 and taking 3 hours finishes at 12:00 - From 10:00 to 14:00 is 4 hours - A day has 24 hours; a minute has 60 seconds - A month is about 4 weeks
Use in the P3 time unit, about 6 minutes, solo mode. Keep a 0-24 hour timeline beside the screen. - For 10:00 to 14:00, hop along the timeline hour by hour - If many choose 130 for 1 hour 30 minutes, ask "How many minutes in an hour?" then add 60 + 30 - Extend with the class timetable: how long is one lesson in minutes? - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book
- Choosing 130 for 1 hour 30 minutes by treating an hour as 100. Stress that an hour is 60 minutes, not 100 - Choosing 5 for 10:00 to 14:00 by counting the hour marks at both ends (10, 11, 12, 13, 14). Count the gaps on the timeline, not the points - Choosing 13:00 or 11:00 for 09:00 plus 3 hours from a counting slip
