What children will practise

Divide exactly by working back from multiplication facts, including two-digit quotients such as 84 ÷ 7 and dividing by 10 (indicator ค 1.1 ป.4/9).

What's in the worksheet

6 multiple-choice questions - 24 ÷ 6 = 4 and 45 ÷ 9 = 5 - 56 ÷ 8 = 7 - 30 sweets shared equally between 5 children: 6 each - 84 ÷ 7 = 12 - 100 ÷ 10 = 10; distractors 100 and 1

How to use it in class

Use as a warm-up before P4 long division, about 5 minutes, solo mode. - 84 ÷ 7 is the only item past the 9th row of the table; split 84 into 70 + 14 and divide each part - Use 100 ÷ 10 to ask what 1,000 ÷ 10 is - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book

Common sticking points

- Choosing 11 or 13 for 84 ÷ 7 when the 7 times table is not known to row 12. Split 84 into 70 + 14 - Choosing 8 or 6 for 56 ÷ 8, confusing it with 64 and 48 - Choosing 1 for 100 ÷ 10 by removing two zeros
