Mathematics
An AR classroom game for Grade 4. Learners can aim with their hands at the camera or play by tapping the screen.
This set has 6 questions in an interactive multiple choice activity.
Curriculum indicatorค 2.2 ป.3/1
A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
A square folds four ways with the halves matching exactly.
Every line through the centre is a line of symmetry, so there are infinitely many.
It folds three ways, from each corner to the middle of the opposite side.
Before you play
Give the number of lines of symmetry of 2D shapes such as the square, rectangle, equilateral triangle and circle, and explain what symmetrical means. This revisits the lines-of-symmetry indicator ค 2.2 ป.3/1, which the curriculum places in P3.
6 multiple-choice questions - A square has 4 lines of symmetry - A rectangle has 2 - An equilateral triangle has 3 - A circle has unlimited lines of symmetry - The letter F has no symmetry; H and A do
This game suits paper folding, 8-10 minutes, team mode. Give teams paper squares, rectangles and equilateral triangles. - For every "how many lines" item, teams fold before answering - For the rectangle, try folding along a diagonal too: the halves do not match - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book
- Choosing 4 lines for the rectangle, assuming the diagonals work as on a square. Fold real paper along a diagonal - Choosing 2 lines for the square, thinking only of vertical and horizontal - Choosing 1 line for the equilateral triangle, seeing only the obvious vertical one. Turn the paper and fold from each corner
