What children will practise

Solve word problems with multi-digit multiplication and division (indicator ค 1.1 ป.4/9), a fraction of an amount, the area of a rectangular garden (ค 2.1 ป.4/3), and a price after a discount.

What's in the worksheet

6 multiple-choice questions - 6 classes of 35: 210 students - 240 books on 8 shelves: 30 per shelf - 1/4 of 80 students is 20 - A 15 m by 20 m garden has area 300 m²; distractor 70 - 1,250 baht with 250 off: pay 1000 - 120 km a day for 3 days: 360 km

How to use it in class

Use at the end of P4 to review varied problem types, about 8 minutes, solo or pairs with scrap paper. - For the garden, the distractor 70 is the perimeter; revisit the difference between area and perimeter - Link 1/4 of 80 to dividing by 4 - For 240 ÷ 8, think 24 ÷ 8 and add a zero, and explain why it works - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book

Common sticking points

- For the garden, choosing 70 (the perimeter) or 35 (two sides added) - Choosing 230 or 190 for 6 classes of 35 after a carrying slip. Split into 30 × 6 + 5 × 6 - Choosing 16 for 1/4 of 80 by dividing by 5, or 24 by guessing. Split 80 into 4 equal piles
