What children will practise

Mixed Grade 6 review: adding a negative integer, multiplying a fraction by a whole number, solving 4x = 36, a percentage discount, the volume of a cube and the mean.

What's in the worksheet

6 questions, multiple choice with 3 options - -7 + 10 (3) - 2/3 × 6 (4) - 4x = 36, find x (9) - 600 baht with 30% off (420) - Mean of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 (30)

How to use it in class

Use as a review before the Grade 6 end-of-term test; about 6 minutes. - Play solo to see who is weak where, then group children for catch-up by the question they missed - If many miss Q4, split it: find 30% of 600, then subtract - For Q1, have children walk 10 steps right from -7 on a number line - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book.

Common sticking points

- Q4: stopping at the 180-baht discount, or taking 30 baht off to get 570, then guessing 450 - Q1: -3 or 17 from muddling the signs - Q3: subtracting 4 instead of dividing gives 32 - Q2: 9 from dividing 6 by 2/3 instead of multiplying
