Mixed Grade 6 review: multiplying a negative, the square root of 169, a two-step equation, dice probability, a percentage of a number and a ratio in simplest form (ค 1.1 ป.6/3).
6 questions, multiple choice with 3 options - -6 × 2 (-12) - Square root of 169 (13) - 5x - 3 = 12, find x (3) - Probability of more than 4 on a die (1/3) - 24 : 36 in simplest form (2 : 3)
Use as a challenge for a class doing extension work before ม.1; about 6-7 minutes. - Play in teams, each writing working on a mini whiteboard before answering - For Q4, have teams list the outcomes above 4 (5 and 6) and count - If many miss Q6, find the HCF of 24 and 36 together first - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book.
- Q4: counting 4 as well gives 3/6 = 1/2, or children pick 2/3 - Q6: stopping at 4 : 6, which still simplifies, or reversing it to 3 : 2 - Q3: subtracting 3 from 12 to get 9, which does not divide by 5 - Q1: answering 12 by dropping the minus sign
