What children will practise

Write daily routine phrases in full without a word bank, first for ten single pictures and then for five arrows on one panorama of a boy's day.

What's in the worksheet

15 items, 20 points - Part A: write the phrase for 10 pictures (10 points): wake up, brush teeth, have breakfast, go to school, do homework, have lunch, take a shower, go to bed, read a book, play games - Part B: label 5 arrows (10 points) on one long scene: waking, brushing teeth, walking to school, showering and going to bed - All five Part B phrases repeat ones from Part A - The key writes every phrase in its box

How to use it in class

Use as the last sheet on this topic, after matching and the first-letter sheet. Allow about 15-20 minutes. - Part B lends itself to retelling: children point along the panorama and narrate, First he wakes up. Then he brushes his teeth., practising he plus -s - If children are stuck, write the first letter of each phrase on the board as a clue

Common sticking points

- Part B asks for the name of what the arrow points at, and the first arrow points at the bed, so children may write bed instead of wake up - Dropping the small words, e.g. go school, take shower, read book - Misspelling breakfast as brekfast or breakfirst, and homework as homwork - Writing brush tooth for brush teeth
