Each food is rich in a different nutrient.

Before you play
Matches nutrients to their jobs, foods to their main nutrient, Thai food groups 1-4 to examples, and eating habits to their health effects. Fits ว 1.2 ป.3/1 (what humans need to live and grow) and ป.3/2 (looking after yourself with proper food).
4 questions, a matching game with four pairs each - Match protein to builds and repairs the body, and carbohydrate to main source of energy - Match egg to protein and orange to vitamin C - Match group 1 to meat and eggs, and group 4 to fruit - Match eating very sweet food to risks tooth decay and weight gain
Use it after children have written down one of their own lunches, about 6 minutes in teams. After question 3, have them sort their lunch items into groups and spot the missing group. Mention that the game shows groups 1-4 only; group 5 is fats. Question 4 leads into a talk about sweet drinks sold outside school. You can link it to a class and record it in the gradebook. In English mode the labels group 1 to group 4 assume the Thai food-group numbering (1 protein, 2 carbohydrate, 3 vegetables, 4 fruit, 5 fats); explain it before playing.
- Question 3: swapping group 1 and group 2, not remembering the numbering. Use the Thai five-food-groups song as a memory aid. - Question 1: swapping carbohydrate and fat since both give energy. Separate them: carbohydrate is the main supply, fat is the store. - Question 3: swapping vegetables and fruit, thinking they are one group.
