A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
The body has several systems working together.
Each organ belongs to a different system.
Looking after your health affects each system directly.
Before you play
Matches body systems to their jobs, organs to their systems, healthy habits to the system they help, and bones to what they protect. This is health-education content: it matches indicator พ 1.1 ป.6/1 (the importance of the reproductive, circulatory and respiratory systems to health), with digestion and excretion under พ 1.1 ป.5/1 and bones under พ 1.1 ป.4/2.
4 questions, a matching game with four pairs each - Match the circulatory system to carries food and oxygen, and the excretory system to removes waste - Match kidneys to the excretory system and heart to the circulatory system - Match not smoking to a stronger respiratory system - Match the ribs to protect the lungs and heart, and the skull to protects the brain
Use it after teaching body systems with a diagram or model, about 6-8 minutes in teams. Before question 4, have children feel their own ribs and spine. After question 3, ask each team to write one health promise per system, such as drink water or chew thoroughly. You can link it to a class and record it in the gradebook.
- Question 2: matching kidneys to the digestive system because children do not know what kidneys do. Explain that kidneys filter blood and make urine. - Question 1: swapping respiratory and circulatory systems since both involve oxygen. Separate them: breathing takes oxygen in, circulation carries it round the body. - Question 3: matching eating fruit and vegetables to the digestive system, which is reasonable. Accept that fibre helps both digestion and excretion.
