What children will practise

Names the jobs of key organs (lungs, heart, stomach, teeth) and how to look after the body. Fits ว 1.2 ป.1/1 (parts of the human body and their jobs) and ป.1/2 (caring for the body and keeping clean).

What's in the worksheet

6 questions, multiple choice with three options each - We breathe with our lungs - The heart pumps the blood - The stomach digests food (distractor: the bladder) - Wash hands before eating to stop germs getting into the mouth; teeth chew and grind food

How to use it in class

Use it after teaching the inside of the body with pictures or a model, about 5 minutes. Read each question aloud and have children point to the organ on their own body before tapping, for instance hand on chest for the heart. Solo or pairs both work. After question 5, take the class to do a real hand-wash. You can link it to a class and record it in the gradebook.

Common sticking points

- Question 3: choosing the bladder because both Thai words start with กระเพาะ. Make clear that the bladder stores urine and does not digest. - Question 6: choosing digest all the food, having just learnt the word digest. Say that teeth only make the pieces smaller. - Question 1: swapping lungs and heart since both are in the chest. Have children breathe deeply and notice what swells.
