How to use it in class

Use once children can form all lower-case letters and read CVC words such as cat and dog. Allow about 15-20 minutes. - Before starting, read I see a cat. together and point out the finger space between words and the full stop at the end - After marking, play I spy with I see a ... / I see an ... for classroom objects, then have each child write one more sentence

Common sticking points

- Item 5 egg: writing e or a in the gap, expecting a vowel as in the other items, though the answer is g - Copying without the full stop, or writing a small i for I - Section B item 5: writing I see a jam. by following the earlier pattern - Running words together without spaces, as in Iseeacat.
