What children will practise

Read and understand words for body parts, self-care, how you feel and opposite describing words, so children can tell a teacher they are hurt or sick (indicator ต 1.1 ป.2/2).

What's in the worksheet

4 questions, matching with 4 pairs each - head to หัว, tooth to ฟัน, tongue to ลิ้น - Care: brush to teeth, comb to hair, wear glasses to eyes - Feelings: tired to เหนื่อย, sick to ป่วย, well to สบายดี - Opposites: tall to short, young to old, strong to weak

How to use it in class

Use mid-lesson after Head, shoulders, knees and toes, for about 6 minutes. Play in pairs: one points to the body part, the other taps the answer. - After the feelings question, have children say I am sick. I am tired. to you, since they will need it at school - For opposites, act them out (stretch up for tall, crouch for short) before tapping - Play it linked to your class to save scores to the gradebook

Common sticking points

- tooth and teeth: children see tooth in Q1 and teeth in Q2 and may think they are different words. Explain teeth means more than one - Swapping hurt and sick, which are close in meaning. Point at a cut for hurt; lying in bed with a fever is sick - fat and thin can turn into teasing a classmate. Use cartoon pictures rather than pointing at children
