What children will practise

Read English number words one to ten and match them to numerals, and use them in a simple sum, linked to ต 3.1 ป.1/1 on vocabulary from other subjects.

What's in the worksheet

6 questions, multiple choice with 3 options - 3 in English (three) - 5 (five) - 8 (eight) - 10 (ten) - one + two (three)

How to use it in class

Use after a counting song from 1 to 10; about 3-4 minutes. - Play as a class on the projector and have children show the number on their fingers before choosing - For Q5, hold up one finger and two fingers, then count them together - If many miss Q3, write eight on the board and point out the silent gh - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book.

Common sticking points

- Q1: three and two get swapped as both start with t - Q3: eight is spelt unusually, so children pick it by elimination rather than reading - Q6: six and seven both start with s - Q2: four and five both start with f
