What children will practise

Read names of everyday places, jobs and transport, and link places to activities (market to buy food) and jobs to workplaces (nurse to hospital), for indicator ต 1.1 ป.2/2.

What's in the worksheet

4 questions, matching 4 pairs each - hospital to โรงพยาบาล, park to สวนสาธารณะ - market to buy food, hospital to see a doctor - nurse to hospital, shopkeeper to shop - bus to รถโดยสาร, train to รถไฟ

How to use it in class

Use mid-way through a community unit, 5-6 minutes, in pairs. After each question the pair says a real sentence: I go to the market. / A nurse works in a hospital. - If you have a map of the area around school, point to the real places after Q1 - After transport, ask How do you go to school? By bus? - Play it linked to your class to record scores in the gradebook

Common sticking points

- shopkeeper (Q3) is long and unfamiliar, so it is often guessed as the last pair. Split it as shop + keeper - hospital appears in Q2 and Q3; children may mix up nurse and see a doctor as both are about doctors - police and police station match on the repeated word alone; ask what police station means to check understanding
