"Under" is the opposite of "on".
Before you play
Use in, on, under and at to say where things, people and animals are, such as The ball is under the chair and I am at school (indicator ต 1.1 ป.2/2).
6 questions, multiple choice; the first three carry a hint - The cat is ___ the box. (inside it) Answer: in - The bird is ___ the tree. Answer: in - I am ___ school. Answer: at - The picture is ___ the wall. Answer: on
Use after teaching in, on and under with real objects, about 5 minutes, solo. Items 1-3 are easy because of the hints; items 4-6 show real understanding. - Beforehand, put an eraser in a box, on a desk and under a chair and have the class say each - If picture on the wall goes badly, point to a picture on your classroom wall - Play it linked to your class so scores go into the gradebook
- The picture is ___ the wall (Q6): choosing in, as the Thai ภาพที่ผนัง does not say on or in. Explain that things fixed to a surface take on - The bird is ___ the tree (Q4): wanting on, which is not offered. Teach elimination of at and of - I am ___ school (Q5): choosing in, thinking of being inside the building
