What children will practise

Read weather and season words (sunny, rainy, cloudy, windy, summer, winter) and choose what to take for the weather, such as umbrella for rainy (indicator ต 1.1 ป.2/2).

What's in the worksheet

4 questions, matching 4 pairs each - cloudy to มีเมฆมาก, windy to ลมแรง - spring to ฤดูใบไม้ผลิ, autumn to ฤดูใบไม้ร่วง - rainy to umbrella, cold to jacket - morning, afternoon, evening and night to Thai words

How to use it in class

Start by looking out of the window and asking What's the weather like today?, then play in pairs for 5 minutes. - For seasons, explain that Thailand has hot, rainy and cool seasons, while spring and autumn belong to colder countries - After Q3, ask It is rainy. What do you take? - Use Thai mode: in English mode Q4 pairs evening with cold - Play it linked to your class to record scores in the gradebook

Common sticking points

- spring and autumn (Q2) are swapped because Thai children have never lived through them. Use pictures of blossom and falling leaves - sunny and hot (Q3): hesitating between hat and water, as sunny days are hot. Match rainy and cold first - cloudy and windy (Q1) get mixed up as both end in -y. Look at the roots cloud and wind
