What children will practise

Build present continuous sentences with am/is/are + -ing (reading, going, watching) and recognise now as the signal word, to say what someone is doing (indicator ต 1.2 ป.4/1).

What's in the worksheet

6 questions, multiple choice with 3 options - She is ___ a book now. Answer: reading - They ___ playing football. Answer: are - I ___ eating lunch. Answer: am - Which word marks the present continuous? Answer: now

How to use it in class

Warm up with 3 minutes of charades (you act, children say You are eating!), then play this solo for 5 minutes. - Q2 and Q3 test the be form; Q1, Q4 and Q5 test the -ing form. Read them separately to see which part children miss - Afterwards, children say what classmates are doing right now: He is writing. - Play it linked to your class so scores go into the gradebook

Common sticking points

- She is ___ a book now (Q1): choosing reads because she takes -s, forgetting is is already there - I ___ eating lunch (Q3): choosing is, the form seen in most examples - He is ___ to school (Q4) is usually right, but some pick goes since he and goes often go together
