What children will practise

Build the past sentence We visited my grandmother last month and the negative I did not see the film, order sentences into a paragraph about a beach day, and order the steps of checking writing (indicator ต 1.3 ป.4/1).

What's in the worksheet

4 questions, putting items in order - We / visited / my grandmother / last month - Last week I went to the beach. > The water was warm. > I played with my friends. > It was a great day. - I / did not / see / the film - Read it all again > check spelling > check verb forms > check punctuation

How to use it in class

Use before children write a My holiday paragraph, about 6 minutes, in teams. Q2 is a model paragraph; have children point to the opening and closing sentences. - Use Q4 as the checklist after they finish writing - After Q3, children make it about themselves: I did not ... yesterday. - Play it linked to your class so scores go into the gradebook

Common sticking points

- Q2: swapping The water was warm. and I played with my friends.; both are detail sentences and either order reads well - Q4: steps in a different order, as nothing forces spelling before verb forms; the game's order is one option - We / visited / my grandmother / last month: some put last month first, which is correct but not accepted
