Science
An AR classroom game for Grade 4. Learners can aim with their hands at the camera or play by tapping the screen.
This set has 6 questions in an interactive multiple choice activity.
Curriculum indicatorว 3.2 ป.5/2
A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
The sun's heat evaporates water into the air.
Vapour rises, cools and condenses into tiny droplets that gather into cloud.
Dumping rubbish and releasing waste water are the main causes.
Before you play
The water cycle and caring for water: evaporation, how clouds form, causes of water pollution, saving water, what forests do for water, and what safe drinking water is like. It matches indicator ว 3.2 ป.5/2 (valuing water, saving and conserving it); questions 1-2 link to ว 3.2 ป.5/3 (the water cycle). Both are Grade 5 topics.
6 questions, multiple choice with three options each - Clouds form when water vapour condenses into droplets - Water pollution is mainly from dumping rubbish and releasing waste water - Save water by turning off taps and fixing leaks - Forests slow water down and hold it; drinking water should be clear, odourless and clean
Use it in a water-resources unit, about 5-6 minutes in teams. After question 4, have teams survey the school's taps for leaks. After question 6, ask where the school's drinking water comes from and how it is filtered. On question 1 you might add that the water cycle has no real start, but we usually begin explaining it with evaporation. You can link it to a class and record it in the gradebook.
- Question 2: choosing smoke and dust gathering, as grey clouds look like smoke. Explain that clouds are tiny water droplets and demonstrate with steam from a kettle. - Question 5: choosing they speed water into the rivers, thinking trees drain the land. Use news of flash floods from bare hillsides as an example. - Question 1: choosing rain falling first. A cycle has no real start, so a child who can justify this has not misunderstood; hear them out, then explain that we usually begin with evaporation because the sun's energy drives it. - Question 6: clear, odourless water can still carry germs; stress that drinking water must also be boiled, filtered or disinfected.
