English

This set has 4 rounds in an interactive matching activity.
Curriculum indicatorต 1.2 ป.4/1
A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
Regular verbs make the past by adding "ed", so there is nothing to memorise word by word.
Irregular verbs, which have to be learnt by heart.
The group that changes the vowel in the middle.
Before you play
Match base verbs with their past forms: regular -ed (played, opened), irregular (went, saw) and vowel-change (sat, drank), and know past time words such as an hour ago (indicator ต 1.2 ป.4/1).
4 questions, matching 4 pairs each - play to played, open to opened - go to went, see to saw, come to came - sit to sat, give to gave, drink to drank - last night to เมื่อคืน, an hour ago to เมื่อชั่วโมงที่แล้ว
Use after teaching the past simple, about 5 minutes, in teams. Q1 is easy because the base word is visible, a confidence builder; Q2 and Q3 test real memorisation. - After Q2, chant go went, eat ate, see saw, come came in rhythm - Use Thai mode for Q4: English mode repeats the same phrase on both sides - Play it linked to your class so scores go into the gradebook
- In Q3, give and drank may be crossed by children who know neither form - come and came (Q2): some think came is a misspelling of come - an hour ago (Q4) is new and matched by elimination; ask what it means afterwards
