What children will practise

Understand everyday classroom instructions (Stand up, Open your book, Be quiet, Look at me, Come here, Raise your hand), matching ต 1.1 ป.1/1 on following simple spoken instructions.

What's in the worksheet

6 questions, multiple choice with 3 options - Stand up means (stand up) - Open your book (open the book) - Be quiet (be quiet) - Look at me (look at the teacher) - Raise your hand (raise your hand)

How to use it in class

Use early in the school year to set up the instructions used all year; about 4 minutes. - Play as a class on the projector; say each instruction aloud and have children do it before choosing - Afterwards play Simon says with all six instructions - For Q4, point out that look uses the eyes, unlike listen - Play it linked to the class to record results in the mark book.

Common sticking points

- Q2: open and close the book are confused, a pair children still mix up - Q4: look at the teacher and listen to the teacher are confused, as teachers say both together - Q6: raise your hand and clap are confused, both hand actions
