A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
The daytime sky is blue.
Grass is green, so "green" is the answer; "red" and "white" are other colours.
Snow is white. Thailand has none, but children meet it in books.
Before you play
Use colour words to describe familiar things (sky, grass, snow, banana), put size before colour in a big blue car, and place the adjective beautiful before a noun (indicator ต 1.1 ป.2/2).
6 questions, multiple choice with 3 options - The grass is ___. Answer: green - Snow is ___. Answer: white - Which order is correct? Answer: a big blue car - It is a ___ flower. Answer: beautiful (not beautifully or beauty)
The first four items are easy confidence builders; items 5 and 6 are clearly harder. Play solo for 5 minutes and look mainly at those last two results. - Before item 5, hold up a real toy car or crayon and have children say a big red pencil - If many miss beautiful, skip the -ly explanation; just say beautiful goes before a noun - Play it linked to your class so the scores go into the gradebook
- Word order (Q5): choosing a blue big car because Thai order is different. Give a short rule: size before colour - It is a ___ flower (Q6): choosing beauty or beautifully as the three words look alike; this is hard for P2 - The sky is ___: Thai separates ฟ้า and น้ำเงิน, so some children doubt that blue fits. Tell them blue covers both
