A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
Furniture found in every home.
Everything has a room it belongs in.
Words for the parts of a house, enough to describe your own to a friend.
Before you play
Read names of furniture and parts of a house (table, window, roof), link rooms to the things in them and activities to rooms, such as cook to kitchen (indicator ต 1.1 ป.2/2).
4 questions, matching 4 pairs each - chair to เก้าอี้, door to ประตู - kitchen to stove, bathroom to soap, living room to sofa - wall to ผนัง, roof to หลังคา - sleep to bedroom, study to study room
A good lead-in before children draw a plan of their home and label it in English, about 5 minutes, whole class. During Q3, point to the real door, window, wall and floor. - After Q2 and Q4, ask Where do you sleep? Where do you cook? - Many homes have no study room; say it is just an example - Play it linked to your class so scores go into the gradebook
- wall and floor (Q3) get swapped as both are new. Touch the wall and stamp on the floor while saying them - stove (Q2) is unknown to many children and is matched last by elimination. Teach it as เตา - wash (Q4): some match it with kitchen because dishes are washed there; both have a reason
