A look before you play
A few real prompts from the game to help you choose an activity for your class.
"First" does not come from "one", so it has to be learnt on its own.
"Second" does not come from "two" either.
"Third" comes from "three", but the spelling changes.
Before you play
Read the ordinals first to fifth, especially the irregular first, second, third and fifth, and read 100 as one hundred, so children can follow instructions that give an order (indicator ต 1.1 ป.3/1).
6 questions, multiple choice; distractors are made-up forms - 1st: first (distractors onest, oneth) - 3rd: third - 4th: fourth (distractor forth) - 100: one hundred
Use after lining children up and saying You are first. You are second.; about 4 minutes, in teams. - Before Q5, write fourth and forth side by side and show that fourth contains four - Afterwards, give ordinal instructions: The first boy stands up. The third girl claps. - Play it linked to your class so scores go into the gradebook
- 4th (Q5): choosing forth, which sounds exactly like fourth; the hardest distractor in the set - 5th (Q4): hesitating between fifth and fiveth, expecting to see all of five - 100 (Q6): choosing hundred one, following Thai ร้อยหนึ่ง
