Game teaching guide

What children will practise

Choose the verb that goes with each sport (play football, go swimming, do yoga), match sports to equipment, read competition words, and use phrases for encouraging friends such as Well done! (indicator ต 1.1 ป.4/2).

What's in the worksheet

4 questions, matching 4 pairs each - play to football, go to swimming, do to yoga - tennis to racket, badminton to shuttlecock - coach to โค้ช, match to การแข่งขัน - Well done! to เก่งมาก, It is your turn. to ถึงตาคุณแล้ว

How to use it in class

Use before PE or sports day, about 5 minutes, in teams, and have teams cheer each other with the Q4 phrases throughout. - For Q1, write a quick rule: play for ball games, go for -ing sports, do for activities like yoga - Tell children Let's play. is what people actually say, rather than the game's Let us play. - Use Thai mode: English mode repeats both sides in Q3, so children can match without reading the meaning - Play it linked to your class so scores go into the gradebook

Common sticking points

- go and do (Q1) get swapped by children who do not know go goes with -ing sports - shuttlecock (Q2) is long and unfamiliar, but matched by elimination - match (Q3): children may know it only as จับคู่ and hesitate over การแข่งขัน
