What children will practise

A P5 end-of-year review by sorting in four areas: past forms that stay the same versus ones that change, fact versus opinion, adding versus result linking words, and many, much, a few and a little.

What's in the worksheet

4 sorting questions - put and cut keep the same past form; sing and swim change - Water boils at 100 degrees. versus Maths is difficult. - and and also add; so and therefore give a result - many and a few go with countables; much and a little with uncountables

How to use it in class

Use in a revision lesson before the final exam, about 6 minutes, in team mode; the winning team explains fact versus opinion. - For the verbs, chant sing sang, swim swam, put put together - For fact and opinion, ask who disagrees with Blue is the best colour.; if someone can disagree, it is an opinion Play it linked to a class and the results go into the mark book.

Common sticking points

- Putting Maths is difficult. under fact because many pupils truly find it hard; ask whether everyone would agree - Putting a little with the countables since it looks like a few; attach nouns: a little water, a few eggs - Putting put and cut under changes shape because they know these are irregular; the question is only whether the form looks different
